Join us as we take our clients, guides and mountain leaders to South Wales in February 2021 with a trek up and down the famous Pen Y Fan
The route that we plan to take is exactly the same one used by the British Special Forces for part of their “Hills Phase” during SAS selection.
We trek up and down the mountain and then back again (we summit the mountain twice)
The event is fully guided and a support vehicle will be made available for those wanting to retire at the halfway point – the mountain is 2907 feet and is majestically placed amongst the Brecon Beacons not far from Merthyr Tydfil (where many of our hikers and guides are staying)
Pen Y Fan means Top Spot and when we reach the summit you will know why, the views are simply breath-taking.
As this is a guided trek with Mountain Leaders and KO approved support guides there is no need to go quickly, our aim is to take a sensible paced approach and achieve our goal.
For those who wish to get a move on we will have a faster group who might get put through their paces however we will see how we get on and make a decision on the day as to how or even if we do that, factors that will effect that call are weather, group ability and access issues.
The weather plays a big part in the pace and group management, again – we shall make a call on both nearer the time.
Historically the weather has been fair with clear open skies and no snow for the last 5 years on the date we have chosen, that doesn’t mean it will be the same for when we attempt our challenge, so you must have the right gear for bad weather.
The kit list will be provided after you book.
